Mason Swearingen- Bass & Vocals
Mason has been a musician/singer/songwriter in the New York City area for 17 years. He has performed in opening bands for major artists, such as Peter Frampton, John Entwistle, The Spin Doctors and The Blues Travelers. He has been in several original bands as a front man, bass and rhythm guitar player. In 1995, the Billboard Songwriters Award recognized his talent as a writer. His melodic, precise bass playing & diverse vocals help to create a solid rhythm section while singing many popular hits for Beginnings.

Phil Antonucci- Guitars & Vocals
Phil is a seasoned guitarist/singer/songwriter, who has dazzled the New York Tri-State area for over 40 years. The 80's and 90's saw Phil in major studios recording and producing many well-known stars such as Russell Javors, Liberty DeVito, Little Stevie Cochrane and Full House. Phil cut his teeth on bands such as Chicago with heavy influences from guitarists and singers like Terry Kath, Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.

Adam Colombo- Drums & Vocals
Adam has been playing drums since the age of 4 and is known locally for his contributions in The Royal Scam, Cosmic Debris, Morse Code, and Inner Vision. He has CD credits for albums released by Mike Frost, Lora-Lee Amram and Pilgrim Soul. His place in the drum chair for Beginnings could easily date back to his early childhood, when the affinity for the horn based group started. He was so influenced by the band it was recalled that while in 7th grade he was asked “ What do you want to be when you grow up?… He simply stated… “Chicago”.     The rest is history.

Marty Safran - Keyboards and Vocals
Marty has been on the Long Island music scene since the early 70's.  Marty played in the popular 70's rock band KIVETSKY for eight years.  Since completing Dental School in 1980 he has been performing throughout the tri-state area with his 60's band JUST SIXTIES. He lends stability and organization to any project. He has opened for Felix Cavaliere and the Young Rascals, Jay and the Americans, Gary U.S. Bonds. For Marty- "Playing the music of Chicago with the this great bunch of guys in Beginnings is truly a dream come true!”

Jason Chapman- Trumpet
Jason is a much sought after performer, arranger, composer and educator. He is a graduate of SUNY Purchase and the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, where he received his Masters degree in Trumpet Performance. Jason has composed and recorded for Warner Brothers, and recorded or performed with Richie Blackmore, Jive Records, Wheatus, Gary Setzer's King Cadillac, The Long Island Brass Guild, Spyro Gyra, The Shirelles, Clint Holmes, The Royal Scam, Stealin' Dan, Big Shot, Nine Days, Mario Cruz's Octet, Funk Filharmonik, and the Long Island Composers Alliance.

Adam Seely - Alto and Soprano Saxophones
Adam has been playing saxophone since the third grade.  Growing up, his musical influences were Charlie Parker, Lenny Pickett of Tower of Power and Billy Joel.  After falling in love with arranging in college, he has played in bands like "From the Hip" and "In the Pocket", & "Funky in the Middle”, as well as Gary Setzer's King Cadillac, Nine Days, Stealin' Dan, and Pete Mazzeo and Friends. Adam's recent rekindled love for the signature sound of the horn arrangements of Chicago has furthered his love of section playing.

Rob Cutts- Tenor Saxophone
Rob started playing sax in the fourth grade and hasn't put it down since. As a featured soloist in the Berner High school jazz band he continued his musical career to Oswego State. As a member of The Funky in the Middle horn section, he has worked on several side projects with Gary Setzer and King Cadillac and played with Stealin Dan and with Daybreaks Night. That's Cutts with two T's!

Ed Leone – Trombone

Born and raised on Long Island, Ed has been performing professionally since 1987, and has since been a highly sought-after trombonist, as well as an accomplished composer and arranger, an experienced and award-winning educator, a knowledgeable and efficient engineer, and a unique and successful producer.  Ed is a very active performer in the New York music scene, and has recently published a number of compositions for wind ensemble.  Ed is currently the Director of Bands at Lynbrook South Middle School in Lynbrook, New York, and still resides with his family on Long Island.
